We are greatly indebted to our respected College President, Thiru. N.AR. Nagarajan, who was the architect of our College. Being the elder son ofour Founder, he had shouldered the responsibilities of establishing the College with his father. With his nourishment, the College has grown like a banyan tree. It was his great dream that our College would attain the status of College of Excellence and grow in to a University. His services were confined not only to the College campus but to the society. His charity and philanthropy were beyond measure. He was the Chairman of the Panchayat Union, Tiruppattur and devoted his time and wealth for the development of not only Tiruppattur but also its surrounding areas. He donated land and a large sum of money for the establishment of the Government Hospital and Government Higher Secondary School. He generously donated Rupees One lakh for the renovation of the Temple tower of Lord Thiruthalinathar, the presiding deity of Tiruppattur. He was instrumental in performing the Kumbabhishekam of Goddess Poomayi Amman Temple. Apart from this, he undertook many welfare measures such as laying link roads, providing potable water, establishing elementary schools, creating employmentopportunities, etc., to benefit the rural people. Naturally he had won the hearts of the people and they affectionately called him “Nagara Thanthai”, which means The Father of Tiruppattur.
The greatest tribute that we can pay to him is that we reaffirm our faith in his great ideals and dedicate ourselves to work strenuously to achieve his noble goals and make his dreams come true and take the college to glorious heights under the active and dynamic leadership of his sons, Thiru. N. Vasantharajan, B.A., B.L., Thiru. N.Rameswaran, M.Com., Thiru. N. Arumugarajan, M.A., who follow the foot prints and the rich tradition built by their grandfather and father, the peerless philanthropists.
